    • Aug 15, 2023 - This month, we will have the final "Show, Tell and Discuss" slide show with images salvaged from Bob's hard drive. Once again, due to the lack of air conditioning at the Merchants and Drovers Tavern museum, this will be a Zoom meeting, exclusively.

    • Oct 17, 2023 - At this month’s hybrid meeting, Bill Keigher will demonstrate the difference between Austria and Australia with videos from, Vienna in 2007, and another from 1960’s Australia. In addition, Tony Hall will have news regarding PSCT 2651.

    • Nov 21, 2023 - Member Jim Tomczyk will present contemporary cab view videos of Amsterdam, captured from historic equipment. Owing to the lack of heat at the Merchants and Drovers Tavern museum, this will be a Zoom meeting, exclusively.

    • Dec 19, 2023 - Many images and some broadcast TV from the Nov. 30 rededication of 2651. Acting President, Bill Keigher will present vintage footage of the Sacramento Northern (~50 min.) and trolleys from DC., Baltimore, Atlantic City and Boston (~35 min.). Zoom meeting, exclusively.

  • Ongoing - Exhibit
“The New Jersey Trolley Era” is soon to be on display at the Phillipsburg Union Train Station.

NEW MEETING LOCATION!

"We are excited to hold our first, in person, meeting since the outset of the Pandemic. Tony Hall managed to find us space in the tap room (unfortunately closed for modern business) of the historic Merchants and Drovers Tavern in Rahway https://www.merchantsanddrovers.org/visit/. There is parking in the yard behind the building accessed from Westfield Avenue.

The exact address: located at 1632 St. Georges Avenue in Rahway, New Jersey, on the corner of St. Georges Avenue (Route 27) and Westfield Avenue.

Please note: we are returning to an old NJERHS tradition of 7:00 PM meetings!

Through the tireless efforts of Jim Tomczyk we have been able to create a hybrid meeting using Zoom. Please join up at or before 7:00 to help us iron out any glitches. We are approaching this a wonderful experiment and time for learning for the future.

Monthly Meetings

NJERHS meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM, at the new location listed above, conditions permitting.

The meetings consist of an informal gathering at 6:30 PM with food (Dutch treat - everyone pays for their own). A brief business meeting is held at 7:00 PM, followed by a presentation lasting roughly an hour and a half. Upcoming presentation entertainment appears on the list above!

During periods of bad weather, consult the website to ascertain the meeting status.
